Solar Panel Price

The photovoltaic solar industry has seen significant growth in the past three years. The demand for photovoltaic solar panels increased so much that production could not keep up. Businesses and homeowners were placed on waiting lists for photovoltaic solar panels.

Photovoltaic solar panel producers, such as Sharp and BP Solar, ramped up production to meet demand, but plans to increase photovoltaic solar panel production have been halted due to the world economic slow-down. Even so, total world photovoltaic production is expected to increase by 3.75 gigawatts to 11 gigawatts (renewableenergyworld).

US Outlook Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Sales

Can you feel the buzz about the deployment of pv solar systems and renewable energy in the USA?  It reminds me of how this country was inspired in the 60’s by President Kennedy’s call to beat the Russians in a race to put a man on the moon.

According to The Global Solar Report Card by Green Cross, the USA is behind Germany and Japan in the deployment of photovoltaic solar systems.  Will we act now to build a competitive renewable energy market in order to avoid the fate of our auto industry? <Read more outlook photovoltaic solar sales>

Benefits of PV Solar Group Buying

The principal of buying in bulk is also holding true with neighborhood pv solar installations. If you can get a good deal on a single photovoltaic solar system installation, imagine the deal you can get with 20 or 100.  Groups are banding together all across the United States to take advantage of group discounts on photovoltaic solar panel installations.

Each homeowner can take advantage of a 30% federal tax credit on the total cost of their solar system plus, any state, local and municipal service rebates. A group could use that funding as a collateral base for a loan for the whole neighborhood project at a much better rate thus reducing the cost even further to each owner. This would mean a better return on investment and a shorter payback period.

Another thought, if you have a couple of vacant lots, is to create a neighborhood solar farm to service all the homes in a development. This would fall under a different commercial classification, but could be even more profitable than individual home installations, and your roofs would be panel free. Another advantage of this system is azimuth, declination, shading and position of the panels.  Not all of the homes will have a south facing roof or the proper pitch, or the placement of that nice shade tree to take full advantage of the sun. <read more>

Birds in Beijing

Coal miners used to take a canary with them to test mine air quality, the canary was the first to depart leaving the miners enough time to escape the toxic air environment. A returning traveler from Beijing commented she saw no birds during her recent trip.  As the Chinese power up their economy using our outdated technology & methods for electricity generation; poor air quality & pollution will continue to increase.  After a volatile year for the U.S. economy, can we power up the U.S. economy differently this time, set an example for other countries and make the environment better for future generations? <read more>
