Solar: Not Just Used for Generating Power

Solar panels are not just being used to convert sunlight into electricity anymore.

As the solar industry expands, new and creative uses for solar tecnology are being discovered.

For instance, a California company has developed a way to use solar powered steam to coax oil from the earth. This innovation is cleaner and cheaper than using natural gas to generate the steam.

Also, a thin-film solar company's product has the ability to let light pass through their solar panels, an innovation traditional solar panels do not have. This makes them good coverings for greenhouses, as the solar collectors provide the diffused light needed to facilitate plant growth.
